Unhappy Transmission problems?

Hello everyone...I was on my way back from visiting my brother and all of a sudden my car decided it didn't want too shift right...It was shifting from 1st to 2nd at about 3750rpms when it usually shifts at about 2500rpms...Than shifting from 2nd to 3rd it was shifting at about 4150rpms I think...Than when I was trying to pass a car on the interstate it did nothing and just revved up to 5750rpms...The fluid seems to be where it's supposed to be and yet it's not leaking any fluid either...I think it may be a bad sensor?...Anyone else have any ideas?...Thanks everyone if you can help...And if you can't tell from my signature it's an automatic.

Does the fluid smell burned at all? Could be that it needs to be changed. If the wrong fluid is in there and it breaks down with age and heat, it will cause those symptoms. These autos are nutorious for it. Could also be a filter that is getting plugged up.

Probably the MLPS. It's also called a Neutral safety switch. If it goes out, it causes problems just like this. I had the same problem with the 4R70W in my old Mark VIII.

All the fluid levels are good and there's no burnt smell...No lights are on also...I don't have a code reader either...And how do I tell if it's the neutral safety switch thing?...Oh yeah...I should be getting the tranny fluid and filter changed ere shortly...I didn't see anything wrong with the fluid still reddish pink colour...Hopefully changing the fluid and filter will work.
