Default Main odometer drive gear replacement

So the 98 GT I bought last week has been nothing but a headache since the moment I got it home. The day after I bought it, the odometer stopped working. Turns out, all the teeth broke off of the main drive gear. So I purchased a new gear and need to install it. Does anybody know how to take apart the gauge cluster so I am able to get to the main drive gear? I know how to take out the cluster and know how to recalibrate the speedo needle once I put it back together, I just need to know how to take the cluster apart. Not in a real hurry since the car is in the shop getting the tranny rebuilt. That decided to fail on me 4 days after I bought it. Like I said, nothing but a headache. Thanks.

The gear goes into the tranny itself and takes about 5 minutes to install. Just take the gear to the trans shoppe and ask them to install it for you.

No, the gear that needs replaced is inside the gauge cluster. I took the cluster apart last week and noticed all the teeth were broke off the gear. I would post a pic in this but can't figure out how to do it. Thanks anyhow.
