A/C Problems? Afraid of stalling
I recently had problems with my a/c, when I flipped it on it would kill the engine I thought it was a bad compressor, mechanic told me it was because my throttle body and idle control were too gummed up with carbon. Now that they've been cleaned when i flip on my a/c I hear a click and the rpms drop near 450 at idle and it feel like im going to stall starting in first, any ideas?
Sorry im stupid just bought the car 3 weeks ago used to have a 1999 auto v6

A dirty IAC can cause idling problems, but a failed compressor can put a large load on the engine. You can remove the serpentine belt and see if the ac compressor will turn freely by hand.
Reading further into your post, the click you're hearing is probably the ac compressor clutch engaging (it will cycle on and off when running). That noise is normal, and it will put a load on the engine and lower the idle. HOWEVER, you should not be idling at 450 rpm. I believe that 600 rpm is the lowest it should go.
Like SuicideBeta asked- what is your normal idle at (with the ac off)? You may have a separate issue causing the problem.
