pulling to the left
lately my car has started pulling to the left when i drive. it pulls even more when i brake too. i just changed all my brake pads a month ago and i put a new rotor and caliper on my drivers side rear because the caliper locked up. do i need an alignment in my front end or is this a brake problem? im leaning towards brake problem. but i cant see why though. i greased up those pins on the caliper brackets that allows the caliper to slide as the brakes wear. i greased all of them and they are all smooth. im really at a loss here.

i believe if it is the brakes that only my front wheels would be the ones to check. and by jacking it up and checking the wheel free spin, am i determining if the brakes are grabbing or if i have a thrashed wheel bearing

Yes you're right the front will be the problem. I just said to check all 4 to get a feel for how a wheel with no problems will spin by hand (although the rear tires will be harder to spin anyways).
When I had bad front calipers one wheel would not even spin unless I put a lot of pressure on it while the other one was hard to spin but not locked up.
You are determining if the brake calipers are bad doing this although it could be the brake hose connecting to the caliper.

I had the same type of problem on one of my cars. It turned out to be a collapsed rubber brake hose at the wheel. As the line gets older, they get softer, & they collapse internaly. When you step on the brake, only the good hose will let brake fluid through & the car will pull to that side- eg. if the left hose is bad, the car will pull to the right when you hit the brakes. This also happens on braided brake lines as they are rubber inside the braid. There are of course other reasons for the car to pull to one side or the other, but I thought I`d throw this one out there because it happned to me
BTW: Its best to replace both front lines at the same time if one is bad.
