97 GT - Power Brake Booster
Just bought my first Mustang, an autumn orange 1997 Mustange GT Convertible. Love it!
I was told by my local mechanic that my Power Brake Booster was shot. He said that the part would be a special order and around $400.
I was trolling the Internet and came accross some that were far less. One from A1 Cardone (A1527344) and one from Prior (3700577). The A1 part is ~ 160$ and the Prior is $70. Anyone know why there is such a swing in price? The parts don't look all that similar in appearance... can someone help a noob?
Other suggestions welcome.
Thanks,
John

Well, there is no brake booster like in most other cars. You have a hydroboost, which is powered by your power steering.
Was $400 for the part, or parts and labor? Also, he might be going through a Ford dealer to get the part. Most aftermarket ones are re-builds, not brand new.
Where in CT are you?
