Default Thermostat Housing Cracked

Hey guys,

I have a small vertical crack on my thermostat housing that starts at the top. It doesn't leak any coolant but I'm guessing the winter is going to give me a lot of trouble and will make things worse.

Anyone know about how much I'm looking at spending if I take it to a shop? It's a '99 GT.

If your intake has the plastic crossover (which Im sure it does) then you will need a new intake. Not so sure on labor but the intake along is like 200$. Then add in gaskets. Its not a bad job to do yourself. But I'd say look to spend atleast 3-400$ in labor

Ya congrats your plastic intake held up ten years. Get the FRPP PI Intake about $200. Look to american muscle to purchase. Get the felpro gaskets at your local autoparts dealer. Its a pretty easy job that can be done by yourself with basic auto mechanic knowledge. Once you know the motions...it can easily be done in less than an hour. Look out for people trying to scam you charging above $250.

You're gona have to get a new intake man or go through a FORD on their recall which is pain in the ***. Your best bet is to go on ebay and buy 2002+ upper intake for the car. On my friends it cracked and it was such a small crack that we couldnt see it until we used LED lights to pinpoint the crack. It shot a gallon of antifreeze through the opening and almost overheated the car. Id suggest you post in WTB section for an intake.
