Getting Rear end done told me i needed clutches?? do i need these?

Default Getting Rear end done told me i needed clutches?? do i need these?

last night my rear end grenaded and the rear end was really hot. i touched the pumkin and burned my finger. well they took it all apart and told me the clutches where worn on the diff. is this legit?

It's possible. Just like any other clutch in a car they will eventually wear out. If the whole is already apart just put new ones in. You can get the one from the 04 Cobra for around 100 bucks online.

Yep, limited slip can uses clutches to give the desired LSD effect. meaning, the more clutches you have the quicker it grabs. It's also why you have to use friction modifer when changing the diff fluid. It's used to add certain qualities to the oil so the clutches have the grippyness they need.

If you do a lot of burnouts or have high tq you can burn them up pretty easily. That's why some guys that drag race their cars a lot go to a Detroit locker or some other type of differential locking mechanism that doesn't use clutches.

Yep could be, I replaced mine with the cobra carbon clutch paks when I did my rearend a few months ago.

definitely replace the clutches or you'll be kicking yourself when you start doing pegleg burnouts later on...

If you got the extra cash i would put in the 03/04 cobra clutch packs, theyll take alot more than the stockers, as far as a detroit locker, I had a hard locker in my 97 na cobra and it was almost unstreetable constant banging around corners and such.
