The European Phillips lighting catalog lists the 37.5W 899 lamps used in the OEM fog lights as being used in "toy/cosmetic fog and driving lights"--that was my opinion of their performance as well.

We get some serious fog here at times, so I replaced the OEM lights with a pair 100W each Hella projectors--let their be light!

I do, however how they look is of a far secondary importance to me, as opposed to how they perform in lighting up the road--personally I don't give a rat's hind end how "they look", as long as they light up the road.

Mine are amber, human eyesight sensitivity peaks at green/amber, any other colour for fog lights is silly--I'll see if I can dig up the photos...

I'm sorry, typically people mean "How do the look cosmetically?", sort of like the various "How does it sound?" discussions regarding exhaust systems--only rarely, if ever, is performance brought into those threads.

On the road the look Great! In fog they penetrate at least twice as far as the low beams (99x as far as the OEM floodlights), and provide a very wide side-lighting as well, with no blinding of oncoming drivers that I can tell...
