Rear axle seal leak...

Rear axle seal leak...
Well, out of every bad situation, a good thing comes of it.
I took my car in to get the tranny flushed. Didn't have time to do it myself.
I was informed that my right rear axle seal is leaking.... you know what that means... IT'S TIME FOR GEARS!
On the fence between 4.10s and 3.73s. Yes I know this subject is long and drawn out. But I've heard that 4.10s will always have a noise no matter how they are installed. Plus, I still want to keep my mid range and top speed, that why I kind of want 3.73s.
Any suggestions or personal preferences?

No the 4.10's do not whine "no matter how they are installed"...I think it depends on the brand, namely Motive has a reputation of whining.
I've had 3.73's before and now I have 4.10's. I had the 4.10's put in when I had a new rear put in when I busted my stock one at the track. I decided to go 4.10's because I realized I was going to the track really often and I am planning on staying N/A for a while. And I was told that my 3.73's might have been shot along with the differential...so I had the chance to pick up some 4.10's for $148 shipped and just jumped on that.
I still liked my 3.73's though...I actually enjoyed it better for daily driving over the stock 3.27's. One of the main worries is the freeway RPM's with the 4.10's....I only start disliking it when I am cruising at like 80+ mph cause I am at 2750rpm's....but usually I am doing like 65-75 here in Los Angeles so it aint that bad

I guess it comes down to some preference. I like my 3.73s, its my DD and i eventually plan on going with a S/C. I've driven my friends stang that had 4.10s and could really feel the difference between the two, but i still prefer the 3.73s.

I found a shop here in Houston that will install Yukon 3.73s for $450 out the door. Can't beat that price.
I eventually want to go F/I as well. Might as well stick with the 3.73s.
Thanks for your input guys.

It would cost an extra $100. I looked up Yukon and asks friends about them. They seem to be reputable. The guys does about 70 rearends a month and it the only brand he uses. He guarantees the work and parts. If anything should happen, he will replace with Ford O.E.M. gears.
