bank 2 is on the drivers side and a whistle is common from a metal cold air intake.

thanks.
so you think the one before the cat may be bad causing the problem?

i guess i can try changing around the 02 sensors.

i cant find any obvious vacuum leaks or hear anything out of the ordinary.

idk if thats the problem, the car runs the worst wot has a vibration and doesnt have the power, its noticable past 2k rpms and is felt more as the rpms increase.
also when lugging a gear high it feels like its gonna die out untill i drop it down a gear.

Well, my friend I'll share my experience with you.
I have a 96 GT with a CEL, code p0174 as well. I was able to diagnose it quickly because I have an OBDII IDS at my disposal. Basically, I had checked the voltage reading from the O2's (Because I was worried about the condition of my converters as well) and found them to be perfectly fine. I then tried cleaning the MAF to no avail. After a little more tinkering, I discovered it was vaccum at the Intake Gaskets. I determined this after a friend and I sprayed Tune Up Cleaner around the intake and watched as the O2's registered a voltage indication the cleaner affecting the RPM.

Long story short, (and I'll be making a thread on this momentarily) after doing the PI swap, the Intake gaskets I recieved with the kit were slightly different than that which were previously installed with the updated intake; The new gaskets differ in such a small amount that the gasket material is only out by about 3 mm's near the rear coolant jacket. This in turn leads to a coolant leak, literally as much coolant as we could pour in would be on the floor seconds later. We installed the old gaskets due to a lack of options, and thus; here we are.

i just did the pi intake swap and used new pi intake gaskets.
i did the swap as deciscribed modded the gaskets to work and used silicone by the coolant jackets as shown. the first time i didnt use silicone and had a bad coolant leak and had to redo it over.
after that it was fine and has ran great untill i got this problem.

P0171 - System too Lean (Bank 1)
top The Adaptive Fuel Strategy continuously monitors fuel delivery hardware. The test fails when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit.
Air Measurement System
  • MAF sensor (contaminated, damaged, malfunctioning, etc.)
Fuel System
  • [*]
Air Induction System
  • [*]
Exhaust System
  • Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2Ss (exhaust manifold gasket, mating gaskets, etc.)..
EGR System
  • [*]
Secondary Air Injection
  • Damaged/malfunctioning secondary air injection system (mechanically stuck valve).

This is the same information as a 174, just bank 1 instead of 2. It might give you a little direction...

Well? did swapping the 02's work? My 2006 gt is giving me the p0174 code and it has the exact same symptoms as yours. Runs rough during acceleration, really it's rough all the time, but most noticeable at lower rpms. It's been supercharged for over 2 years with no problems until now.

Going to pull the plugs today, then swap 02's, swap injectors if I have to. I can monitor my 02 voltage and see it go lean when accelerating. No vacuum leaks were found.

Everyone needs to update their posts dammit!
