Interesting discussion. Almost everyone agrees that if it has a tune for the injectors and MAF its probably OK to creap over to the tuner staying out of boost. Centrifical superchargers reach peak boost at peak rpm. My supercharger generates 1.8 lbs of boost at 2500 rpm and 8.9 lbs at 6,000. But like Moose said, the engine doesn't necessarily get all of the boost. The throttle controls how much air actually goes into the motor. If I let off the throttle at 6,000 rpm the motor goes instantly into vacuum and 8.9 lbs of pressure is bled off into the atmosphere. There are two basic way to prevent supercharged air from entering the motor. Both have been mentioned. Use a vacuum/boost gage to monitor your throttle movement or don't go above 2500 rpm. I recommend that you do both and don't drive the car anywhere else except straight to the tuner. Even a complete 'canned' tune needs to be check by a tuner before you drive the car.
