Default Bleeding the brakes

This is an easy question but i'm going to ask. I need to bleed my brakes and ACCORDING to my Haynes Manual it says I need a very expensive tool to do this, is that correct? If so what tool is this they speak of? I thought I could just bleed the brakes with letting out the bleeder valves and then pressing the brake down etc etc. Can I just do that? Thanks.

This costly tool you speak of is a friend to assist you in pushing the pedal while you open each bleeder.

Read this http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...o/4213448.html the house and bottle idea works great.Just sit the bottle where you can see it from the car and watch for it stop bubbling. There is a faster way you buy a bleeder kit and it pumps the fluid up from the bleeder so the air goes in the master cylinder. To me that way is faster and gets all the air out the old way takes longer and can still leave air in it.

To bleed the ABS module you need a very expensive ABS scan tool. If your master never got completely empty you probably never got air in it.

Bleed the master, then bleed from furthest to nearest the master.

I just had a nightmare of a time with brakes 2 months ago because of bleeding incorrectly.

Well all went well. I did the bleeding with a friend and it was very easy cause we were able to reach around to get to the bleeder valve without having to take the tire off. Took about 10 minutes and cost me nothing.
