Default better gas mileage?

ok , sct tune to 87 oct with 93 oct is getting me 40 to 50 miles more per tank with same or more aggressive driving. we can talk all day abot perameters but the weather is same, the distance, speed and accel is same. so why do i get get better gas mileage? its got the 87 tune cause of the no2 kit and i never retuned it for D/D use. then i got more miles. i know its not crazy amount for some but b4 i was getting 250 average a tank, but noe im getting an average of 300 per tank. i drive the same way and these past few fillups i may have driven faster just cause ive been runnin late, but milage is better.

ANY THOUGHTS?

the engine doesnt know what octane you are using. The tunes only adjust the timing so itll still be getting the same fuel as if it were on a 93 octane tune. remember it takes more gas to start the car and let it warm up. So if your constantly starting the car itll use more gas rather than if you just drive it continuously. Just like starting and stopping the car in traffic will use more gas
