Default slow 60's

Well, again today still getting the slow 60' times. my 67 and 70 cut 1.7-1.8's but my 98 cuts 2.0's consistently on drag radials, which well.. is the same that i cut on street tires.

i've done everything from a healthy burnout to the spin and clean - idle launch, and some pedal launches.. same thing. the car slings back nicely and takes off, it's just not getting any better on the 60's. i figured i could cut at least a 1.9 or so with em.

anyway, i got lower control arms, subframe connectors, no upper mini shocks or whatever they are on the rear, no front sway bar and running 3.73's with 275 50 15 bfg drag radials. i get no spin so i know it's hooking and i'm running consistent 13.7-13.8's @ 100 mph but still shouldn't i be hitting better than 2.0's?

What psi you running? I noticed a big difference when I lowered the pressure in mine.

Have you tried slipping the clutch and launching at different RPMs?

I was also going to say try launching higher, but the page took too long to load the edit screen

it's an automatic - not a 5 speed so i can't "slip" the clutch - and i'm running em at 30 psi lol.. same that i run on my 67 and 70 cus the rims are only 7.5" and it sucks the center of the tire up if i lower the psi

Sounds like there's a good chance you're just not making the power to propel your car off the line hard enough with the stock stall on the car.

Stall converter + dr's + auto = nice 60's

At what rpm are you launching at? 1200, 1500? I was able to get a 1.9 60' on street rubber with stock gears, now, the best I can manage with 4.10s on stock rubber is a 2.01 launching at 1100 rpm. 12-1300 I start to spin, so I try no higher than 11. I would drop the psi. On 32lbs I did a 2.16 60', dropping to 25lbs I cut a 2.01, so it does help, and I would think even more on DR's.

i *might* try lowering the psi in the tires but at the upper end you can feel it wobble from low pressure, as for the converter it's got a 2800 in it so.. i don't know what's up with that, i pushed 288rwhp the other day but - as i said i don't lose traction, the thing bites down it just has a **** roll out in the 60'. i tried launching at idle, 1000 - 1500 hell even hit 2000 once same crap. it bites but doesn't do any better.
