Question for those of you with the VT/CMS stage 2 cams
I'm looking into some CMS stage 2 cams into my '02 GT. My local tuner has reservations about going with a cam with as large of a lift as the VT stage 2's. He claims that 0.565 is too much and that I might run into problems with piston to valve contact. He also claimed that I would experience "lurchiness" at low RPMs and that the car could lurch on the highway with so large of a lift.
Has anybody with these cams experienced any of these problems? What are any of you cam guru's feelings about this situation.
Any input is appreciated.

Lift has nothing to due with PTV clearence. Clearence has a lot to do with how off your stock cam gears are. With that being said, degreeing is necessary.
These are great cams, but i've seen enough evidence to show that PVT clearence (with stock heads and pistons) might be to close for comfort for me.
I know a lot of people on here are going to dissagree, and say they have no problems with theirs, but it's a gamble imo.

I have the VT stage IIs with stock heads. I installed them myself and they are not degreed. No PTV issues and they are fine in stop and go traffic or cruising on the freeway. The car IMO cruises down the freeway at 70 mph just like it did stock and even in stop and go around town driving the cars manners are like stock
