Default quick answer needed!

got code p2270 on a 04 GT, and was going to get a O2 sensor. Advanced auto tells me a straight up price for Bosch, and Autozone says there are diff O2's for precat and aftercat O2's, something about different plugs.

this true? i thought O2's were O2's but specific to each car

let me know ASAP as i need to go pick one up and put it in tonight before car gets inspected tomorrow! lol

thanks guys!

All four sensors are the same, however the cable lengths are different (there are 3 different lengths IIRC). The connectors are basically the same however the key tab is differently located for left and right. You can clip the key out, to make a "universal fit" connector, with diagonal cutters, box knife (watch those fingers), or a dremel tool, etc.

You wouldn't have long tube headers, would you?

nope i dont, i just got back from getting them, i guess we will see if they fit when i start to throw them in

ill see if they are long enough before i take the old ones out, or just splice in some wires to make them longer.

I asked because P2270 is usually associated with LTs, caused by the relocation of the front sensors further downstream than stock. This causes the O2 sensors to not respond in the amount of time expected by the PCM, the fix is to increase then values in the O2 Transport Delay table.

As the sensors age slow response is one sign that they are on the way out--usually it's the output voltage dropping but I have seen them slow down first...

I actually had this problem with FRPP shorty headers a few years ago
