Mine is doing the same thing, its been getting loud sometimes, but im willing to bet money that its the fuel pump.... its idle dependent and comes from the trunk, not too much else it could be. Gear whine is high pitched, trans wine would be gritty and you would notice performance wise.

wanted to bring this question back to life. My 07 is making the same humming noise when I am giving it gas. If anyone has figured this out could you please help me out with this.
