Default my throw out bearing blew up!

last night i was slamming gears and my tob exploded. also the retainer that the tob rides on(is that what its called?) broke in the middle. the tob was a new oem ford unit and the trans is a tko 500 with 26 spline input shaft. there is also trans fluid leaking from the input shaft. has anyone else done this? i need to get the best tob i can get and retainer the cheapest i can get them, where would i buy them? also i will take of the clutch(spec stage 1) and inspect it. i'm thinking about replacing just the disk with maybe a centerforce like on here: http://dagostinoracing.com/index.php...93_17825_17826

anyone know where else i can get just a clutch disc? would i be fine with a new disc and re-surfacing the flywheel?

here are some pics of the tob, shows how the tob split in half where it rides on the retainer.

Well I don't like to hear that. My TOB is making noise, hopefully it won't explode (can it really do that?).

Sorry I was of no help lol But good luck with your fix.

well i'm sure something else caused it to fail but i wouldn't worry in your case. i see you have long tubes with the stock tranny? its possible to get the tranny out without taking the lts off but putting it back on is a different story!

when my tob failed i just heard chunks of metal flying around in my bellhousing. it makes me feel better having a sfi rated bellhousing now...

When I blew up my TOB (and yes it can happen)... I just took the opportunity to replace everything from my input shaft, to my clutch and flywheel.

Mine was actually covered under warranty somehow, and the dealer said they'd replace my flywheel for free with a stock one because it was dead and the whole job was covered... So you may want to get a look @ that flywheel see if there was any damage done to it.
