Default pypes fitment

i wasnt gonna thread jack from someone else so i figured i would make a new post about this. i have been hearing about pypes midpipes not fitting correctly. i find that dissapointing because i was going to buy pypes lt's and an offroad mid pipe from them. what exactly is there problem? is it minor or a fixable problem? they fit my budget lol!!!

The problem is poor quality. You might get lucky and have one that fits very well. Pypes does not manufacture it's mufflers, and I suspect it doesn't manufacture anything at all (it's a distributor/seller).

My friend got a offroad x from them for his 07 gt and that thing would leak no matter what we did. Id stick with better quality parts, exhaust leaks are the most annoying sounds ever.

there is a reason why they are cheaper.

i got their headers and the matching mid-pipe because they are stainless steel. one of the pipes rubs on my steering shaft, and the width of the midpipe was different from the headers. they had to be bent at the shop to even have a chance of fitting. there is a guy over on the corral who had similar problems, and pypes basically said "yup, that's how they're made." and unless they changed them, their midpipes were made with the O2 sensor bungs pointing down. WTF? i don't really know if mine is made that way or not, because i just have my O2 bungs blocked off cause my rears are turned off in my tune.

I have an offroad Xpipe on my car and dad has an offroad Xpipe on his 05 and both fit very very well with no leaks what so ever.

I would not hesitate to buy another Pypes midpipe.

I must be one of the few, haha!

Just remember, with any mass produced part there's always going to be some duds in the bunch.

as far as fitment goes everything iv had from them fits excellent. My lts touched the steering shaft a tad but i fixed that easily..

The only issue iv had with anything pypes is my midpipe had the bungs welded on upside down. It didnt bother me because I dont use my rear o2s anyways, but stupid on their part.

As far as quality of metal/welds go..top notch. the welds on my headers and midpipe look like rows of dimes.

+1 I have just their mufflers so no major fitment problems are there. But the quality and welds seems really good the mufflers look nice.

I have a Pypes High flow catted X pipe.

Fit perfectly with my stock manifolds, not one single problem with installation or thereafter. Now, after doing the PI swap and adding BBK Ceramic shorties I CANNOT get the driver's side to seal. It's been leaking ever since. I've tried everything short of refitting the midpipe itself, which I'm going to try next.

I'm pretty happy with the quality, I too must be one of the lucky ones.
