Default gas tank problem

Hey guys, I've been having a problem lately with pumping gas. When i insert the nossle into my gas tank, if i try to pump at full speed it's like there is some kind of back-up problem and gas pours out of my car. so i have to pump gas really slow so it doesn't do that. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

On a side note, i'm looking for good places to get work done in the fayetteville/ft. bragg, North Carolina area if anyone knows that would also be very helpful.

If it is pouring out from underneath the car then its probably the filler neck gasket. You have to drop the tank to replace it.

Yea, its probably the filler neck, that went bad on my last mustang, can you smell gas afterwards?

i had a bad gasket...replaced it and this problem actually started...but mine was different...i could fill it as fast as i wanted, but if i let the pump run till it clicked off, soon as i pulled the nozzle out, about a cup of gas would dump out under my car...im assuming the gasket was messed up when i put it in...its definately gasket related...pick one up for $17 at a dealership and put it in

yes i can smell it afterwards, i dont have the tools to do that kind of work i live in the barracks so i cant just drop my gas tank in the middle of the parking lot. can you maybe guestimate how much that would cost to have done for me?
