Default Want to build a 12.50 to 13.00sec 2001 GT

What parts would I be best off getting to run high 12's to low 13's in the 1/4. I want to run PRO and SPORTSMAN at my local truck without breaking the bank. Any help would be great.

Welcome to the forums! Sticky tires, gears, and tune will put you in the low 13's with some good driving. If you want to bump it up a little more while staying as cheap as possible, then slap on a small shot of nitrous, and you'll be in the mid to high 12's.

Scroll all the way up... Locate the blue "tab" bar that runs across your screen. Now go to the 7th tab from the left hand side. This tab is known as the search function and will provide you will all the info you are seeking as long as you use it correctly...

BTW....welcome to the forums

I would say 4.10 gears, LT headers, and some Hi-Tech stage 2 cams would get it done.

if i were to build a 13.00 car id do headers, mid pipe, catback, gears, upper and lower, shocks/struts, springs, t body, plenum, intake, under drive pulleys, tune, 15x3.5 weld prostars, 15x8 weld prostars woth mickey t et slicks, stage 2 clutch, and a built rear. sounds like alooot and its deffinatly not the cheepest was but i think itd b pretty reliable and u could run 13.00 all day with decent driving. and for a 12.50 car id add stage 2 cams, probly hi tech or cms and u could probly run 12.5 with some pretty good driving

Ya if you wanna go fast quickly without breaking the bank then just get a 31 spline rear end with 4.10's, nitrous, and slicks. You could probably do 12's reliably all day

You could also drop in a K&N filter for like $40 instead of a CAI

I am gonna try to keep this on topic, but for a 75-125 shot, what cams would you guys recommend? are those hi-techs good for it? Once my suspension goes in, cams are next on the list, then the giggle gas.

If you are planning on running a bracket class it's a bitch with a fuel injected car. You want to try and keep your car consistent in those hot summer days so you might want to look into a cooling system between those rounds on hot summer days. I am starting to get mine set up for next year because my normal bracket car is down for awhile.
