My friend and I just got done replacing them. First of all, the drivers side valve cover would NOT come off. I just couldn't get enough clearance at the back of the motor. Secondly, the ****ing noise is still there. I can't take it anymore.

Default Hope this helps

I just worked on a f150 with the same problem. I noticed there was no oil coming out of the lifter/follower oil holes while the engine was running with the valve cover off. It ended up being the oil supply to the lifters was restricted. The rear cam journal(cap) had three bolts, under that is the main supply for oil to the lifters. When i removed that cap i found a small piece of debris blocking the small transfer slot in the cap. I removed the debris and my lifter noise went away. I changed lifters twice before finding this out.
