head unit problem!!

Default head unit problem!!

stock mach system with stock head unit and it will turn up any everything fine but when i turn the **** too fast to turn it down it will turn the volume up sometimes, is there anything i can do to fix it, my pop it off?

My receiver at home does that. Its just the switch itself. you can either replace the head unit or just learn to control volume slower :-p I dont know how to "take apart" the stock head unit, but if you were to get in there some how, you would probably find out the switch is dirty or something. some cleaning "could" fix it, if you "could" get it it some how.

some of my stereos at home do that as well. i would say a driver mod will most likely solve the problem

same here. my stock mach 460 head unit did that before i replaced it. my home theater system in my living room does that as well.

mine used to do that to. just go slower...

i eventually just got an aftermarket stereo. idk why people love the stock 6 disc changer

My Mach 460 did it too, worse when the car was cold. It would try to crank all the way up sometimes. I used to just hit the Mute button then turn the volume back up to where I wanted it to be before it had started f'ing with me. Strange how they seem to magically try to crank themselves up instead of down (that may have been a little more convenient). And yeah, probably just dirt in the switch. Some electronic contact cleaner or maybe even keyboard cleaner might help if you can get it in there.
