E-fan on when car is cold
Ok so its really cold out... (below 20 degrees) and my car engine hasn't warmed up to much, it went around like 5 blocks and idled some at lights.
But my coolant gauge says is still telling me its cold. Ill be at a drive through window and my electric fan is going full blast as if i were using max ac in summer. Is this normal? I mean my car isn't overheating but the fan comes on all the time when im not going that fast and the engine isn't warm quite yet.
Should i even be concerned? The car does warm up okay as well...

there is a fan speed resistor plugged into the fan shroud on your car. it switches the fan between a high or low setting depending on the coolant temps. if you unplug the resistor the fan will only run on high whenever it kicks on. normally, when its running on low its hard to even hear it, and its pretty normal for the fan to come on 5 minutes after starting the car

How does the AC work in the summer?
I had a similar issue with my 03 GT. I had the freon recharged and that fixed the problem. I know it doesn't sound logical but, getting a full charge of freon in the compressor took care of my cold running problems.
