is there a way to prime these motha_f%^kers?

No, they bleed off pressure as soon as the oil pressure drops. When it gets pressure, it flows through and squirts out.

Its still not a good idea to start an engine dry, expecially when hydraulic components have been installed. Pull your fuel pump relay, crank your engine for 10 seconds. Give your starter a bit to cool, do it another 10 seconds, and you should be good.
