Question I Know Nothing!!

OK here is the deal...I just recently purchased an 02 GT with a blown engine. The guy "says" he "thinks" he dropped a valve. BUT the kid left the hood up on the car with one of the heads off for months. I don't think the engine is salvageable so I'm needing help in locating a longblock. I live outside the dallas area and if any of you guys (or gals) can loan a helping hand I would appreciate it!!

2002 Mustang GT Coupe......
NOthiNG SPeciAL...
$2k invested so far...

Best thing is to call the local junkyards for a motor. Not going to be cheap if your heads aren't salvageable. Search car-part.com for local results. Cheapest is at Meyers auto salvage in Canton and it's $850. Good junk yard though, I have done business with em before.

Thanks for your input man.....I've taken the day to kinda search through the forums and kinda get an idea as to the cost and everything. I'll give Meyers a call next week and see what they can do for me.

if you have bigger plans, maybe search for a 4v motor...

For now it will be a daily driver/weekend strip car lol. I just started college again so it has to get me back and forth to school. I found a 2v motor from JerseyBlue (i think that's his tag) for $700 +shipping so I may take him up on that. He said it was a spec engine, romeo block and pink injectors or something like that. Seems like a good deal to me. Just wish my car woulda been a 5 speed

Yeah, I got into mine for less than $500 with a new clutch. It was the cheapest option for me.
