I am converting a 97 gt into a cobra and also using the gt block. I wanted to know if I can still use the gt chains, tensioners, etc... I have a set of cobra heads that already have the secondary chains on them so am I able to just re-use the ones I already have or do I need to buy a new cobra set with everything?

Personally I would buy all new chains while you are doing this swap, not that expensive and not a bad idea to freshen up!

so the cobra chain set up will fit the gt block then correct?

I can't answer you,re question for sure, but what part of PA are you in because if you need cobra timing chains I have a stock set from a 97 with approx 80k miles and im in wilkes-barre area.

Im in McDonald or Pittsburgh if you have never heard of it. I have the chains and stuff from the block when I originally took them off. I was just curious to see if anyone knew for sure if they would fit with 4v heads vs 2v. I dont want to use them again if they cant take the extra force etc...
