+1 my vote is gears and a full exhaust i wouldnt really worry about a tune. Maybe thorw in a short throw shifter instead of a tune as someone mentioned. Hell easily smoke the bullitt with those changes.

My $.02:

Gears
Tuner
Mac Pro-Chamber (Gives the Rumble but keeps the tq you typically lose with no cats)

After that focus on the Suspension to get the power to the ground.....
Rear LCA's etc.

If you want to take it to the next level: Heads/Cams to kep it NA or a SC!

3.73 or 4.10 gears.
I went with the o/r H on my '02 gt. the x is more raspy and the h is more deep and has more of a "muscle car" tone.

That really depends on the whole set-up. A lot of people say the x is more raspy, but mine is not at all, it is just louder. It is, however, catted and goes to chambered mufflers. An x will sound raspy when it is catless, running to shotgun style mufflers, or both.

Thank you all for the responses. It look like the general consensus is that gears will help the most.

In the meantime, we found a Borla Catback on craigslist that we picked up for $250 and the DSP should arrive shortly in the mail.

The next part we will be looking at is a mid-pipe, and the gears will be the last addition.

The main reason gears he is shying away from gears is because of cost. (although we all know the saying "how fast can you afford to go?") It seems like the gears + labor + recal =~ $1000. Is this true or can gears be put in ourselves with moderate mechanical knowledge?
