Bought car with AUX cable, How to switch modes???
Ok, I bought an 01' GT with mach 460, in the center console there is a cord ran from the stereo with an imput to plug into an mp3 player. I can't find a way to change modes on the stereo and I have went through every channel on the radio, does anyone have any idea how to change it to make the mp3 work?

My 01' GT with mach 460 has no AUX button, my brothers 04' mach 1 with mach 460 has an AUX button. Any other ideas? I mean there is a THX jack running right out of the console for mp3 and I will be driving 12 hours to san antonio, and another 12 hours back. I need mp3!

you'll probably need to pull the dash out and see how it connects to the radio. it's simple, i can pull the radio out of a mustang in under a minute if i had to. just pull the radio out and see if that wire even attaches to anything. if not, aftermarket radio time.

Ha, it wouldn't be bad, do I need to take any part of the dash apart, or do I just use the little pieces of wire to pull it out like a normal stereo, also the 6 disk changer is HUGE, if I put in an aftermarket do you guys know of a kit anywhere to eliminate the huge gap that will be in the dash?

Best Buy, etc. will have the kit you're wondering about. To get the stereo out, remove the shift ****; pull up the entire shifter bezel (it just unsnaps in four places from the center console, and you'll have to disconnect the fog light/trac. control switches on the backside); you'll see two screws at the bottom of the stereo's frame, remove those; and slide the stereo out. Like IRSmart said, it comes out in about a minute.

if its anything like the aux adapter i bought for mine (have new HU now) you need to hit the cd player button twice, it will say dj or something like that, it switches between CD and AUX, little hidden secret lol let me know
