Default Oil Quantity

I've recently went from a 90, to a 98 stang.
I'm still getting used to the 4.6 liter, and have a question about oil.. Do you guys run the 5 quarts it recomends in the manual or do you find it takes more like 5.5 or 6 quarts to fill up?? My 5.0 recomended 5 quarts too, but held 6 with no side-effects.

Help.

Thanks Everyone!

Your 5.0 took 5 quarts with a new filter...I do not know about you '98 4.6 (I suspect it is the same for all 4.6L), but I have a 2003 Mach 1 4.6 and it takes 6 quarts with a new filter. Now incase you haven't heard, Ford screwed up with the dip stick markings on the 2003-04 Mach 1's and if you fill the oil up to the full mark on the dip stick, you'd have put in up to 7 + quarts = of oil..waaaaaay too much!!! This can cause a variety of problems, loss of HP etc. So remember to only put in the amount of oil the factory specifies. I don't quite understand why you'd put 6 quarts in your 5.0? Oil frothing due to over filling is a bad thing...<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley11.gif border="0">
