Yeah the gas seems to be terrible here, even with me running 91 all the time now, I changed my fuel filter again at 65,000 miles and it was badd, you couldnt even barley blow through it and had some nasty stuff too. Sad thing is when it had only like 36,000 miles on it (no mods, with warranty thank god) fuel pump burnt out on me. After the last time I changed the filter was right before winter, and I'm half tempted to do it again as bad as it was last time and almost makes me want to drop the tank and clean it but that can wait for now hopefully. and Tbird I got a question, what did you do to tint you tails. I have been thinking about using just the tint style stuff but Im not sure on them yet. I know with the headlights I just need to get a new set so I'll just go a little darker smoked, plus with all the bugs n crap here tint wouldnt pry last long on the front. I currently took some 5% tint and tinted the rear sidemarkers and the Ford emblem on the deck lid and love how it sets it off(couldnt make straight enough cuts for the tails lol).

Especially when temp.s are way high 87 gives and gave me problems.
Good so I'm not the only one that noticed a difference in 87 vs 91. In my original motor I would always run 91. If I ever filled up with 87 or 89, I noticed a considerable difference in fuel mileage, as much as 5 MPG less with lower octane, so I always just filled with 91. My new one is tuned for 91 now, so that's what I still get. And I think you're right, the gas here seems bad, among other things in this city lol.

LOL at this thread.....i never understand why people buy 91/93/94 when they are on a stock 87 tune.... (not talking to the OP, just the people saying their car performs better)....and this is the first time ive heard that a car "sounds" better with different octane??? i have a friend who is like this, always uses premium in his stock mustang...waste of money, no performance gain, its not better on the engine, nothing...there is no benefit at all to running premium unless your engine required it to not ping... if youre filling with 87 and pinging, then step up to 89 and then to 91 etc until its fixed or whatever, but if you dont have pinging on 87, theres no need to run any higher

hell im running 87 through my big block

I understand what you are saying^^^^^ but every car is different and if I had a stock mustang that kept pinging on me with 87 i would start running a higher octane. As far as the mention of idles sticking, as long as you are rolling the pcm holds idle 1500+ until you come to a complete stop. fyi

Ya I think most my problem is just the bad fuel around here/ their bad tanks that store the fuel, last time I changed my fuel filter it was terrible, so bad I almost want to change it again already just to see how much craps in my tank again. My pump went out at 36,000miles as well.
