Default Hood Pin question

Where's the best location to mount functional hood pins on an '02 gt? Please post pics or pm them to me as I don't have 50 posts yet so I can't see them in a thread.

Hey, I couldn't find the exact write-up that I used when I did mine, but this one might have some info and pics to help you out. Good luck!

Is there a reason you couldn't sandwich a big washer and nut on either side of the sheetmetal to hold the hood pin in place, instead of welding the nut to it? I'm wondering, just in case I wanted to go back to my original hood and still use the rubber bump stops, without cutting or grinding the nut back off. I was going to get stainless Ford Racing hood pins. Are the hoodpins to short for this?

The Ford Racing kit is the one that I used. The pins worked out perfect for me. Unfortunately, there is no way to get to the underside of the support to get the nut on. So it has to be welded.
