Default Tire Pressure / Size

2002 Lowered V8

Front Driver = Nexon 275/40ZR17 Max Pressure44
Front Pass =Nexon 275/40ZR17 Max Press.44
Rear Driver = Nexon 245/45R17 Max Press.51
Rear Pass = Kumho 245/45R17 Max Press.44

Should the they in size from Front to Back?
Why does the max pressure differ? 51 to 44

I Checked the pressure, every tire is at 25psi, What is the recmmended Pressure
Daily Driver HWY + City.

Yeah good pressure is about 30-35psi.

One question, why are your front tires wider than your rears?

Dont know, The Car is a Week old. 56000 Miles. I typed wrong but one of my questions was is the difference in size normal, Should i buy new tires or can i just ride on them untill they exspire. I plan on updating to 10.5 in the Rear anyway.

Well it's not really going to hurt anything, but generally if you run offset sizes, the rears are wider than the front. This is better for traction in the rears, for better acceleration. I would just swap the front and back for the time being until you get new tires.

The difference in maximum pressuse is because they are different tires.

The tire with the 51psi max may be a better grade tire, or the manufacturer is comfortable rating it for higher maximum pressure--if you check you will probably find the maximum load for the 51psi tire is higher as well.

Sometimes it takes a little trial and error to get the tire pressure right. I was running 32 psi in my 315/35-17s and saw that it was wearing the center of the tire out faster then the edges. I have temporarily dropped the pressure to 25 psi to see what it does.

Aired up my Kumho's yesterday. I usually run 35 psi. Max recommended stated on tires was 51 psi. I went w/ 55 pounds. I drive 130 miles round trip to work every day. I was shocked to see mfr. recommend that high psi. I had 25 lbs in each tire.

The maximum recommended pressure is just that, the MAXIMUM pressure to which the tires can be safely inflated--you are now 4 psi over that, and at least 16 psi over what you should be running!!!

Bring 'em back down to 32-35 psi before you drive too far...

Cliffy you're right. am I incorrect in thinking it would extend my mileage at the expense of maybe wearing out the center of my tires. I usually buy new tires every 6000-8000 miles. so I was'nt too worried about uneven tire wear..
