Default 2002 mustang gt will not crank or click

I'll try to be as detailed as possible here. I'm at my wits end with this car and here's the issue...

Key turns on but engine won't crank. I'm not getting any Clicking from the starter decided to go ahead and put a new one on it to eliminate that option. I've had a problem with the PATS before and this is not the same issue. The Anti Theft light is not blinking rapidly like it does when it's the PATS. Battery is 2 months old and I'm getting 12.4v at the new starter for both power and lead wires. Fuel pump is working fine and spitting fuel when key is on and I press on the port valve. All fuses under the hood have tested fine. I replaced all the spark plugs a couple months ago but haven't touched the coils yet. I don't think this a coil problem since my starter is failing to engage. It's a brand new starter that is giving me the same problem as the old one. It must be something electrical, I'm thinking. The car ran fine as my wife drove it home but now I'm getting nothing. I don't want to take it in for servicing because I hate to fork over large bills if it's a fix that I can handle. I'm stuck here, any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

first things first, you should check for battery power at the S terminal of the starter while attempting to crank(its the smallest of the terminals) if u have power there then you should at least hear a click when attempting to crank. if that checks out then positve and negative cables should be voltage drop tested to check for high resistance. you have checked alot of things that cant cause this issue, rest assured its not a fuel, coil, spark plug issue. if u dont think that you feel comfortable with the electrical end, i suggest taking it to a mechanic

Default Got her

Turned out to be a simple fix and kicking myself for not checking this... It was a rusty ground wire at the battery post. Wire brushed it clean, put it back together, car started without a problem. I tested the old starter and although it was still functioning, it was grinding pretty harshly so I'm leaving the new one on it since I got it for a steal. Thanks jwog for your reply. If anyone runs in to a similar problem, PLEASE check your ground first! You'll be happy you did, lol.

Default NOW I GET THE THEFT LIGHT

I read about rusty gound connection
I cleaned the ground

Present state:

Connect battery
Interior lights work
Turn key to ON -- all lights across bottom of dash are normal
Turn key to START -- flashing THEFT, everything else dead
Nothing works unless I disconnect and re-connect battery

I need a small person to come over and get that fuse out maybe?????

Any Ideas would be appreciated
