Depends, is it an n/a motor with a max of 150shot, or a motor built for lots of spray, or is it supercharged/turbocharged? If so, how much boost? Lots of variables and they all require a different setup in ring gaps. For example though, I gapped my rings at ~.022 top and ~.018 bottom since I'm putting together a forged setup and planning on a psi range of 15-18 with a 70mm turbo.

it will be blown by a 2.8 kenne bell much later on down the road. i ended up forging the roating assembly because of a rod knock. figured while the motor was out i would take care of setting it up so i didnt have to pull it again(set me back about $2400). so... it has a future of forced induction but not for a while due to money.

If it were me I'd gap them stockish and ride till you get the blower, then tear it back down and rering and bearing it for a fresh start with the blower. The more the gap the more blowby you get which is why most turbo guys run catch can with the pvc system. You don't want to be driving around a daily driver with excessive blowby just cause it'll have a kb on it "one day".

It keeps your engine free of crankcase oil.

Here's a better answer:
