Default 383 SBC in a 94&up Mustang

OK here's the delimma, I have a 383 long block Chevy with $5000 invested plus a 700R-4 race built transmission. Can I put this in a 94 and up stang??? Eventually I would like to turbo charge it, but what parts would I need to get it in and does anyone sell a swap kit for it??? Sorry about the Chevy-Ford mix, but sometimes you gotta run what you got....

There are no swap kits, you'll have to fab everything yourself, everything. Why not get a f body for it, hell of a lot easier.

More money and work than it's worth. Just use a Ford engine, and buy an old Camaro for your 383.

I would think you'd have to do a lot of fabricating. The 4.6L is a huge engine so it will probably fit.Wouldn't you have to swap out the transmission too?

tranny yeah probably, just thought it'd be something good to do, with all the suspension parts out there for a mustang, I had an Iroc with TPI on the 383 but ran into problems with the fule injection so I sold the TPI setup off of it and now I've promised a guy the chassis and 67-69 Camaros are too pricey.

As long as its carb'd you can just drop it in , fabricate the mounts, and go...that'll be a sweet ride...

2nd gens, 701/2 to 82 are relativly cheap, with the exception of the 701/2 to 73's. Even those are cheaper than the 67-69. Besides a SBC in A FoMoCo is a gauranteed ticket to rodder hell, you have to drive an Izuzu or Yugo for all eternity.
