Default Engine pics..Whats in there/Advice

Ok guys here are some engine pics...I def see the CAI...do you have to do any filter cleaning or maintenance to these and if so where do u go in...next there is some sort of BBK item..believe its headers...not sure if anything else has been done maybe u will see something..anyways..any mods i can do to improve gas mileage/perrformance without lots of money...thanks in advance guys

It just had a head gasket go out so that was fixed..new water pump...just not sure what all i could do to improve the gas mileage and performance thats not real expensive..not a racer just want a fun car and something to ease the driving of my jacked up truck

That engine bay needs to be washed.

It's good that you have the headers finished and out of the way.

I agree the intake manifold looks new, it looks cleaner then the rest. I'd clean up the engine bay a bit and clean the MAF sensor with a Qtip and rubbing alcohol. Another thing in basic maintenance that people forget is a fuel filter every 12000 or 12 months.

But yea, basic maintenance helps a bunch in a safe/clean running engine.

Is there a cleaner you can buy that you can spray on the engine with damaging anything and maybe powerwash it off...or should a professional do it

There's a really good write-up sticky-ed around here that will make it look great.

Underdrive pulleys will give you a little bit of added mpg

to wash it i use gunk engine bright degreaser. i like the foam kind. it works awesome and its pretty cheap. just spray it everywhere (cover battery, maf, alternater etc) and hose it down.

to clean your air filter use a k&n filter cleaning kit. it costs like 12 bucks.

when u say cover those...do u mean cover them with the spray or cover them to keep em dry
