Default WTF is this noise-video enclosed

Originall this was thought to be a clutch noise as it sounded like it was comming out of the Dust cover. Competition Transmition adjusted the clutch cable (Steeda Quadrant) and said to give it a month. the noise was quieter then. It went back to competition and they removed the clutch and tranny and put up a mock bell housing, noise was still there. First thought was spun rod bearing or something like that but it just doesnt seem to be right. Notice the MPH needle move when the car is reved up while in nuetral. The motor was replaced at 50k miles under dealer warranty.

disregard the brake, air bag, and coolant lights. Completley seperate issues.

Have you checked the compression?

It sounds like perhaps a hole in a piston--hard to tell without hearing it in person...

If it were a hole in a piston you wouldn't be able to see the road behind you for all the smoke,,,,to me it sounds like the timming chain slapping around, but, you said it was comming from the rear of the engine, so, my best wag would be wrist pin slap if it is indeed the engine. Good luck!

Came in here to say this.. Pull the rear COPs out and check to see if the plugs come with them.

Pull the coil on # three and see if the plug is blown out of the head, if it is, fix it or take it somewhere and have it fixed, it can be done without pulling the head, i did it on my truck (5.4)!

Update- I pulled the valve covers to be sure it wasnt lifter noise or something like that, still seems to be lower end, tried to sell it for 2k no buyers and I refuse to go lower. In fact now 2k is to low now that I have another vehicle, I picked up a 1987 Ford F150 for 1k.

The car is just sitting in front of the house now with a flat tire. I guess ill put the valve covers back on and mabey try eBay.
