Default 17x10.5 not fitting properly

I just purchased 17x10.5 inch wide wheels for the car. Put them on and it looks like my rear brake line on the driver side is rubbing against the bar that holds the brake line.

Has anyone ever had that problem before. It's only one side. The other side of the car has properly clearance. Or does anyone have a solution. I'm already running 1/4 in spacers so this is pissing me off.

Im almost ready to sell the rear wheels soon for some 9 inch wide wheels. BTW the wheels are black fr500.

I have 18 x 10.5 ROH on my 02GT's rear. I didn't have any line issues but I did need to have the fenders rolled back. I messed up a new set of 315 x 30 MT's the first time I floored it. Cut deep grooves into the top near the tire's edge complete around the tire. My motor makes a lot of torque. That may have something to do with it....

Spacers would make this situation worse.

Hopefully this problem will not happen to you.

Sounds like this is just the bar with the loop to hold the e-brake cable solid. If so, just bend it out of the way a little. Hell, my e-brake cable is completely bare in this area due to tire contact. I need to get in there and patch it up, come to think of it.

Probably because you are running a 17 wheel. That 1 inch makes a clearance difference. Especially on a lowered suspension.

I love the fact that you built you car, Janine. Not many girls modding Mustangs.

OP, what tire sizes are you running?

As long as the 17" tire has 5% additional sidewall than a respective 18" tire, they will be the same diameter (or not enough difference to mean any clearance issues). So a 315/35/17" tire is the exact same size as a 315/30/18" tire, so clearance will be exactly the same
