Default Threw a Rod on the KB Tune

Yep! I did it.. and it sucks a lot.

I was getting a dyno tune from Eric Brooks today, and we started to do the first pull for a baseline to see what the KB tune was good for. She looked rich on the a/f meter, so he punched it for the go ahead, and at 5000rpms two of my rods shot through my engine block for a huge *** mess. Turns out that at 5000rpms I still made 362rwhp and 427rwtq... but I gotta say, I'm pretty depressed. Those stock pistons and rods totally shafted me. There is a video, and I will get to uploading it in the next few days. In the mean time, here are some pictures:

Damn that's too bad. Put a stronger bottom end in and push more boost.

this is why i can't stand when people refuse to get a dyno tune because they got a canned tune off the internet that they say is "perfectly safe". doesn't KB have a warranty for their tune though? you and your tuner might want to contact them and let them know what happened, they may be willing to help you out a little bit if you talk nicely and kiss a lil booty (especially with your tuner doing the talking so they know you werent doing something stupid).

really sucks man but like said, maybe this is a good enough reason to get a MMR block :-)

How many pounds were you running?
How many miles were on your engine?
How many quarts of oil do you usually run?
Were you getting it re-tuned? Have you had the kenne bell on before?
