I have a 2003 GT that smokes when at idle a little and then when you rev or take off from a stop it leaves a white/blue smoke cloud. Oil level was good. Has no cats on it and also has aftermarket throttle body and plenum intake with cold air intake for mods. Has the following codes P0420 P0442. HELP PLEASE its very annoying and trashy looking.

The DTC # P0420, catalyst system below limit, bank 1, # P0442 is leak in evaporative system. Since you are not running cats. you probably need the kit to turn off CEL Hope that helped.

Update: found the leak for the evap system in the fuel filler neck had a hole in it rusted out. Also I have to go through emissions or inspection so to speak so I have to get cats so would just the cats alone solve the smoke problem. Also funny thing someone has already turned off the CEL light but only comes on when you turn the key to the run position before you crank it.

How many miles on the car? Blueish smoke maybe valve seals. Normal with CEL to turn off after starting car.
