Default n20 on saleen mustang

im about to run a 100shot of nos. but i was reading on the website that there should be no tune. i beleive my car came with a stock tune from saleen. it is the non supercharged saleen. is it still safe to run n20 on that tune? thanks

You should most definitely have a tune IMO. Some have done it without, but that's up to you. I run a 100 shot on mine with a custom tune.

No problem. If you're doing cams with that 100 shot it becomes even more important to have a good tune, as you'll be really pushing the limits of the stock internals. It's one thing to run 400 rwhp with a blower, but 400 rwhp (or so) with nitrous is another.

ok thanks for the advice. if you dont mind me asking, how much did your cams cost and where did you get them from. the motor is out of the car right now, will that make a difference cost wise? thanks

Cams are from Modular Head Shop. I got there stage 2 n/a cams, specifically for the PI heads. They're roughly $600.

Having the motor out of the car will make a huge difference as far as ease of install. I did mine with the motor in the car. It was a pita lol.

Give them a ring, or you can PM the owner on here. Nickmckinney is his user name, and his actual name as well. This guy knows his s**t when it comes to cams for the mod motors.

Definitely go for the n/a cams, because to take advantage of a true nitrous cam you'll need to be running a huge shot. Far bigger than what your car is capable of handling. A good n/a designed cam will be totally safe, and still work great with a basic 100 shot.
