Angry UGHHHHHHH!!

Hey whats up guys, Im having a really frustrating problem with the stang for about the past 2 or 3 months. It's an off and on problem where sometimes the car will start perfectly fine one minute, the next it may crank and crank and crank, but never actually start. I get it towed to the shop later and as soon as it gets there, it starts. Sometimes I'll try starting it and it'll start up, but very weak and at low RPM's, and almost fight to start up. It does it so sparratically and the shop and I are stumped on what it could be, any help is greatly appreciated guys.

Does the starting problem have any correlation with if the engine is warm or cold?

The few times it hasnt started at all was when i was coming out of work after 4-6 hours and it sat in the parking lot, usually when it starts slow and almost doesnt start, is when the engines a little warmer. It's just that it can be fine for a few days to a few weeks, and then suddenly not start 1 day.

Well there are three elements to an engine starting/running. Fuel, Spark, Oxygen. Gotta start eliminating them one at a time. Someone more experienced with diagnosing issues like this will hopefully post.

I think my GT has a problem along these lines too - sometimes she's a little slow to start. A couple people have recommended just dumping some fuel injector cleaner in an empty tank, filling it, and letting it run its course.

I'm waiting for my tank to run out, so I dont know if this fixes it (or if our problems are the same, but it sounds like it)

try slightly cracking the throttle open when it does it next time. sounds like to me that u have a bad idle air control motor.

The very 1st time I got my car towed up to a shop, the mechanic said to get it started, they held the gas pedal to the floor for 10 secs, then tried starting the car. It starts with this method but they said i shouldnt do it all the time for obvious reasons.

But its never really had an idle problem, where its really low or way too high. Idk but thats just what I got from reading about the IAC valves online. The shop was possibly thinking it could have to deal with the fuel pump or fuel filter.

Alright so basically the dealership calls me saying yea we need our loaner back today so you're gettin your car back but they're giving me some sort of diagnostic tool to keep in the car to check the codes when my cars dies again, greatttttttt lol
