newbie with a question
After I installed a new 4.6L it seames that my car hits a rev limiter before it hits the shift point. Well, this is while shifting manually from low to high. Leaving in 1st gear and trying to shift at about 5 grand. If it shifts on its own its fine but it wont turn high rpm's. I apologize if this is a stupid question.

Need Help or understanding
I guess both. I have a hypertech programmer for my SS Impala and figured if I got one for the GT that I could increase the rev limiter and fix it but why should I have to do that or is this not the problem. The motor is one of those Ford 3/year 100k mile warranty motors. Its hard to get into a good power range, cuz when I rip it and wind it up it wont go into second gear until the rpms drop. (ET drops along with it)

Im not sure honestly??? Though im sure someone else on here has more knowledge than myself:
But.... if i were you, the first thing i'd do is check the fluid level. Be sure and check it while the car is running and on a level surface; make sure its at the correct level is look at the color and smell it. Making sure nothing is up with that?
How your Tranny currently?
Next are you familar with what your doing with setting your own shift points? I assume your are but & are aware that the two cars shift patterns are different. I myself am not too familar w/ a hypertech programmer so i couldn't advise anything there but im aware that if you don't know what your doing it can mess things up bad.
Have your recalibrated your speedo-meter?
Just throwing some stuff out there, not sure if it'd work. UNTIL someone else smarter than myself on this can chime in. Good luck
