Default Need help With power seats

The drivers seat on my 96 cobra will not go forward or back. If I try to go forward nothing happens, if I go back the motor just makes one click. I called ford and they said the seat motor is only available with the track for 602.00 dollars. Any other solution?????

Try a bone yard. The motor from a GT or even a v6 would probably work.

is it off track? That click might mean that its stuck, or at least its trying to move. Try "helping" it.

Bad switch?? On my grandfather's Town Car, you have to almost toggle the switch to get it to move forward or backward. Pull the switch out and check with a multimeter that the circuits are closing when you activate the switch. Does your seat still move up and down? I'm pretty sure there's only one motor under there; so if you still have that movement then I would look more toward the switch being the culprit. Also could be some sort of obstruction in the tracks.
