Default brakes are soft/spongey

I replaced the rear calipers, front calipers, pads/rotors and my brakes are soft, it goes about halfway down before it stops, i bled the system is there something else that has to be bled? ABS module or proportion valve??

Are you certain that it is different than "before"? The hydroboost brakes tend to have a "spongy" feel as compared to vacuum assist systems--I got freaky about mine the first time I "did" the brakes and then realised it is just the way they are...

They are like that. I've driven his car numerous times and comparing his brakes to mine is like comparing apples to oranges. There is definitely something going on with them.

you could always try bleeding the master cylinder.

99% sure Its your brake booster, had the same promblem on my 95 gt. It causes a vacuum leak in the system, i bet your idle drops when you hit your brakes too.

That last 1% will bite you every time...

There is no engine vacuum connected to, or associated with, the braking system on the 4.6L Mustangs.

Ford could not fit a vacuum operated booster in there with the wider engine and incorporated the Hydroboost system instead--it use power steering system hydraulic pressure to provide power assist to the brakes.

Your 2000 GT has this system.

My brakes suck too... They are the same way yours are it sounds like

Cobra spec brakes are on the way. I'll see if that changes anything...

mine are pretty solid. maybe a tiny bit of mush/freeplay, but not much. i hope the new brakes fix it up for you.

That's what i like to hear! I would imagine maybe some DOT 4 fluid with SS lines would remove the mushiness. Who knows!
