Default Speedo Calibration

So I just bought my GT a month ago, and the rear differential is messed up, so I have to replace my gears. This is a mod I was planning on doing anyway, so I'm not too heartbroken. I am going with 3.73's - but the guys at the shop want to charge me $250 to re-calibrate the speedo, and I was wondering if there is another/cheaper way besides buying a tuner? This seems kind of like highway robbery to me, but I've never dealt with this before

Yeah, ADDITIONAL, that's my problem. They are a Mustang only shop, and I have gotten a lot of recommendations for them, and they're doing the gears for a good price but damn.. not so much with the calibration.
