how much boost will you be making on it? with 10lbs you will probably see a good bit over 400.

I was thinking no more than 8 psi... I've decided to get it tuned at a place in St Louis. Only thing its like a 2 hr drive.. Do you think the car will be okay driving that far without a tune?

MMR is selling their MMR shortblock (block pistons crank rods etc) complete for $1999 right now.

you have cams tho too. someone else i saw recently vortech'd his car with stage 1 na cams and made about 450rwhp so you should easily be able to get 400 without needing 10lbs of boost.

as far as "buying a kit" do like above and just buy the already built and assembled shortblock from MMR or somewhere else. you can buy the "kit" for cheaper, but theres alot of machining and balancing and stuff that you likely will not be able to do yourself, so it adds up to basically the price of an already assembled shortblock

over 400 rwhp is asking for trouble i cracked my piston on my stocker. In terms of running stock tranny you will be fine it a solid tranny but if you lauch car often expect for it to break down eventually. I am running stock tranny and rear end at 470 rwhp. When and if it breaks I will upgrade but not a track car.

One thing to keep in mind is that Ford did not design the GT (or any Mustang) to be a drag machine or any other kind of race car. The GT is is nicely built moderately "high performance" consumer product--90+% of them never see 5k rpm...

Taking it "to the track", even once, get's you into the area of "beating the crap out of it"--unless you just went there to play around. That they can stand up to weekend warrior racing is testament to the overall design and build...

Hey thanks again for the info.. I'm gonna try and get the Supercharger installed one day and get the tune the next.. Hopefully I will have enough discipline not to get on her to hard before I get the tune, lol.. Also I will take you guys advice on the MMR block. I was just wondering does the MMR block add any hp or does it just help in containing HP?

Yeah I hear you man. I went to the track one time and burnt out my stock clutch.. I was thinking once I install the S/C I was going to go to the local track and see what she can do.. I was all set on installing the LT's when I got home but man I would really be asking for trouble. 1st priority is the block... Can anyone give me a estimate on how much it would cost to instll a block?

seriously? tunes are overrated and everyone should get on their car hard without a tune once they have a blower. this is sarcasm btw.

and i answered your block question on the previous page already.
