Default line pressure in tranny

Just installed tranny cooler and kind of concerned about maybe one of the rubber lines popping off with the pressure involved there? The hose is over the flared ends and double clamped.

Meh, i think most line pressures are only maxxed at like 270 psi. I think you will be ok. PM WhiteFoxGT, he has an auto in his truck, and worked at a ford garage before, he may offer some good input.

I would cut the line and install a compression fitting with a barbe d end on it.

If he is running the line through the radiator to the cooler back to the transmission without a lot of bending and various fitting he is going to be stuck running at least a couple feet of rubber line.

If you really want to do it right get steel braided lines with AN fitting and quick disconnects.

No its just an aftermarket tranny cooler. I could be wrong but they all come with rubber hoses and clamps. And yes, its true that the 4r70w trans has up to 275 psi in reverse, but there can't be that much pressure in the lines to the cooler, can there?

Exactly, that is why I said you should be fine. I wouldn't imagine you seeing 100 psi even on those lines...I'll try to do some research for ya. For what its worth, I have had ****** brass fittings hold 200psi of glycol/water solution in industrial machinery, with only one stainless hose clamp...
