Default a/c field coil

Son just purchased a 1997 gt mustang. the ac clutch bearing were worn out and needed to be replaced. bought a new coil and pully assembly. i problem is trying to remove the oild coil from the compressor housing. instructions with the new coil says to remove a clipp holding the coil on. I can not seem to find it. any help in this matter would be very much appreciated.

They are lying--there is no snap ring retaining the coil (must be generic instructions). Once you get the pulley off you just need to use a puller to remove the coil...

And by puller he mean a few taps from a hammer. When installing the new one if a puller isnt handy use some wood and a hammer to lightly tap it flush
